The EMT is trained to respond to emergency calls, perform medical services, and transport patients to medical facilities. When transporting a patient in an ambulance, the EMT may drive or he or she may monitor the patient’s vital signs and give additional care including but not limited to basic life support and first aid. This six-month course will prepare students to sit for the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technician Cognitive Exam.
